Apostle James Tilghman is the third child of five children from Shirley M. Tilghman and the late James Tilghman, Sr. of
Princes Anne, MD. He began his Christian journey at Mt. Hop A.M.E. Zion church under the leadership of Pastor Weldon
Johnson, who is serving as pastor of the New Life Ministries Church of Cambridge, MD. While furthering his college
education, in 1977 he met Chief Apostle Julia Williams at a summer revival assisting Bishop Darnell Hutt in Baltimore, MD.
He graduated from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore with a B. S. in Business Administration in 1980. Under the
leading of the Holy Ghost, Apostle Tilghman joined the Holy Temple Church, assisting Chief Apostle Julia Williams in
establishing another three churches.

In 1981, Apostle James Tilghman was ordained in to the office of Bishop and has been serving in this capacity for over 26
years.

Apostle Tilghman has traveled to the international countries of Wiesbaden, West Germany, Paris, France, San Juan, Puerto
Rico and parts of Nassau, Bahamas. Apostle Tilghman attended the National Conference on African-Americans and
AIDS, which promotes HIV awareness and prevention in the United States. He has also worked with the youth in
Maryland and Delaware to help prevent drug use. Under his guidance, our church organization sponsors quarterly clothing
and food drives for the Baltimore City community. He also sponsors yearly National Bone Marrow and Red Blood Donor
drives. His efforts have raised the moral of the community. The church has also participated in the Cleaner/Greener
Baltimore sponsored by Mayor Sheila Dixon. His education and international evangelizing has paved the way for young
men to strive for Holiness and maintain true family values. He currently serves as General Overseer and Head Prelate of the
Holy Temple Holiness Churches of Deliverance, Inc of Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, and Florida. He along with his wife,
Senior Pastor Prophetess Greta Tilghman, presides at the Headquarters church, 2016 West Pratt Street, Baltimore, MD.
He is a loving husband to his wife and a dedicated father to his daughter Jaqueta Julia Tilghman and nieces Shantise,
Malika, Lynia, and Kadasha Williams. God’s last day messenger speaks the powerful words of life to everyone he meets,
telling then to stand on the promises of God and “Be Blessed!”
Evangelist Greta Tilghman was born in Brooklyn, NY to the Late Apostle Julia Williams, Founder of the Holy Temple
Holiness Church of Deliverance, Inc. Under the leadership of Apostle Williams, Evangelist Tilghman began to flourish in
the gift of prophecy and healing. She studied nursing at Church Home Hospital in Baltimore, MD. Evangelist Tilghman has
been dedicated to evangelism for over 22 years. She formally served as the National Youth Coordinator, National
Musical Directress and a motivational speaker for the youth in Virginia, Maryland, and Delaware. Evangelist Tilghman is
the wife of Bishop James Tilghman, who is Bishop of Holy Temple Holiness Church of Deliverance in Baltimore, MD,
where she serves as Senior Pastor. They form a dynamic duo for ministry. Evangelist Tilghman has traveled extensively
across the United States and internationally conducting women’s conferences, marriage seminars, and ministering the
Gospel. God has anointed this vessel to touch the lives of many with the spoken Word of God and prophetic healing.
Through her travels, Evangelist Tilghman was blessed to meet Dr. Bobby Jones from BET. This meeting opened the door
for her to meet many well-known gospel artists, many of whom she has ministered. Evangelist Greta Tilghman is a true
woman of God and encourages the body of Christ to hold on to the promises of God. “A family that prays together, stays
together.”
